About Sumaya
​
Julia Sumaya is a Sufi teacher and health educator devoted to women's health and wellness, centered on sacred self-care. Julia began her studies of Sufism and Sufi healing in 1998. She has offered Sufi healing and teachings for over two decades, fostering spiritual growth and transformation for her clients and students. She is also a Healing Tao associate qigong instructor, inspired by Taoist practices that enhance female sexual health. In parallel, Julia's fascination with scientific inquiry has propelled her toward a career as a health educator. She has shared her expertise in the public school system, where she taught puberty and sexual health education, equipping her students with the fundamentals of health and reproductive health.
Julia earned a Master of Public Health degree in leadership from UNC-Chapel Hill and is the author of Sex Education in North Carolina Schools. Additionally, she earned a Master of Divinity degree from the University of Sufism, where she was immersed in the mystical and practical teachings of Sufism and how to live in service to Divine Love. Her MDiv research involved interviewing female Sufi teachers from across the globe about the interplay of female reproductive health and spirituality, which inspired a series of books accompanying girls and women across their lifespans. The first in the series, The Sufi Book of Health and Wellness for Girls, is in its final stages of creation. Julia warmly invites you to embark on a transformative voyage alongside her, exploring the mysteries of Sufism and physical, sexual, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.

This immersion is a prerequisite for the next class, The Song of The Clitoris, presented in the Summer of 2024.
Join me on a mystical journey as we create sacred space for veils of shame, fear, and emotional friction to lift and return to the Divine. Veils of light and veils of shadow can reside in our body, mind, heart, and spirit. When we truly see these veils and allow the tender, intimate Love of Divine Light to be present with us, we relax into healing.
Together, we will witness an inherited lineage of veils or barriers that have written their confining essence on our bodies, specifically the clitoris. We will step out of this lineage and relax into the Ocean of Divine Love. This teaching intertwines women’s reproductive health information, Sufi teachings and practices, and Taoist practices.

When we know ourselves, we know the Divine. Knowing ourselves includes knowing our beautiful body, mind, heart, and spirit and loving her. From a place of honoring the inner masculine and feminine, we will explore one aspect of Herstory of the female body, including anatomy and physiology, and invite Herstory to heal in the Ocean of Divine Love.
My passion is understanding the disparity between the negative messaging about the female body, the reality of her sacredness, and how to use Sufi and Taoist practices to relax into her sacred nature. Please join me on this journey.

This depth immersion with Jumana and Sumaya will weave together wisdom teachings and practices from HER Mystery School, Tao Medicine, and the Sufi path to restore the fullness, freedom, clarity and sanctity of your erotic nature.

This is less a class and more of a gently ritualized consecration of your sacred nature, your beautiful body, and your sanctity as a woman. Without pride or judgment, together we will acknowledge places where our sexual energy may be scattered, where we have become dispersed and lost potency or a sense of value. This will be an opportunity for you to restore an authentic sacred context around the freedom and potency of your erotic nature. You will consolidate your personal power in to your center, gathering it in from all of your relationships, your past, your present, and the overculture.

You will do this by freeing your erotic potency, however it is most true for you, into the protection of your own sacred regard.

During our time together you will be invited into a deeper consideration and clarification around what part of your sexual energy is actually your wild, free, beautiful, passionate energy, and what has been linked or bound to outside influences. Is your sexual energy truly yours or is it being informed, hijacked by the outside world?
And how does that then influence your movements, desire, thoughts, pleasure, and emotions? How does it define the fulfillment of your relationships, your vitality, and your strength of spirit?

Join us to fortify and more deeply orient to that which is true in your secret heart, your most sacred nature. Return again to be protected by divine law and therefore consecrated in the name of divine love.
